Beil and Kwon is an acoustic duo based in San Francisco and Forestville, California. They bring vocals, acoustic guitar, and cello together creating a sound that draws from folk, slowcore, chamber music, and minimalism. Both had years of classical training and had lost touch with making music when they met. It was their reminiscing that got them back to playing music. Now they spend weekends playing and recording music at their cabin in the redwoods of West Sonoma County.
Noah Beil was born in Spokane, Washington, and raised in Rochester, New York. He received a music degree from Brown University, and has been involved in various unknown musical projects. In the late 90’s he ran an indie recording studio in San Francisco. He also studied photography, and has published two handmade photobooks.
Jenny Kwon grew up in the Bay Area and Seoul, Korea. She played cello through college in orchestras and chamber groups, but her cello collected dust for over a decade afterwards. She picked it up again when Noah had the idea to play together, and it’s been an amazing experience falling in love with music all over again through Noah’s songs.
